The Foxcroft Academy Pep Band (Directed by Mr. Joshua Guthrie), is expected to participate in next week’s Band-O-Rama, hosted by Nokomis Regional High School. The event is being held at the high school next week on October 28th at 7pm. There’s to be at least five bands in attendance. Foxcroft’s band is expected to play the following songs. Ipso Funko, I Want You Back, Lady Marmalade, and 25 Or 6 To 4. Though there is no “official” competition, F.A is expected by all to emerge victorious, as the crowds favorite band. The pieces being played by Foxcroft are pieces that are well known by the students, as they play them at home games for football and basketball. The band is expected to leave the school at 5pm Wednesday night and get to Nakomis by 6:30. “Never have I been so excited to play with such an ensemble. Through my four years of playing trombone, I have never been with such a prestigious group. The sheer excitement is overwhelming, as I play with some of the seniors in one of their last pep concerts” said Jason Lewis as he reminisced the good times that he had with the band, and the good times that he plans on having with them. “The pep band, you can definitely can hear them well. When we score a touchdown they inspire us to play well, with their immediate response” said football captain Brandon Brock in a recent interview. This shows that even a band can play a role in the endless success that Foxcroft Academy’s football experiences. “As the year progresses, and the closer I get to graduation. I feel a strong sense of nostalgia, as my time as a member of the Foxcroft Academy band is drawing to an end. But it’s good to do something new with this group before I leave” says Liam Riehl. So the Band-O-Rama is not a thing to miss.
