Monday the second of November was the all conference selection for class C north among those selected were a handful from Foxcroft Academy. The recipients of the awards for second team were as follows, Zachary Caron at outside linebacker, Cody Strout at defensive tackle this was Cody’s second year playing high school football. The first team all conference selection recipients were Tanner Strout at offensive tackle, Billy Brock a junior for middle linebacker, his brother Brandon Brock was selected as defensive end, Connor Holmes was also selected as first team defensive tackle.

Earning recognition for first team is a huge honor for high school athletes. The work required to get to the spot that they are at is a tremendous amount, spending time in the weight room, studying plays, keeping up their grades and being a overall team player. When this is all taken into consideration the student athletes don’t have an easy route to run to make it to where they are now. They were all willing to do this and then some to stand out of the crowd of all the other players in their conference.

We caught up with Hunter smith and asked him the work required to be in this spot, saying “is a great honor to be a part of first-team all conference in any sport. It is not an easy process, but with dedication hard work and competitiveness one can achieve such goals. While hearing of this honor as a younger player you really don’t realize how close you are to achieving such thing until you’ve you firsthand the seniors above you and the work they put in to achieve such goals. My freshman year was testament to this winning the state championship with some of the best leadership possible for a high school sports team. Experiencing this the first semester of high school has truly set the bar for my entire high school career. It has inspired me ever since that moment to be the best I can be a lead for the underclassmen. I will never forget freshman year football season and what I experienced watching the seniors work harder than anyone else to achieve the ultimate goal. It is truly an honor to be named first team all-conference. Anyone who has put in the time and work to achieve this goal will be noticed, it shows on and off the field, this is just a way of recognition for those who strive for the best.” Hunter is a senior captain who was sidelined after a dislocated hip in the preseason. He was a selected as first team quarter back and first team safety and his sophomore year he was selected as first team wide receiver.

That just goes to show that hard work pays off and the athletes that put in the work in the off season were honored by being selected for first team all conference.
